FIFA Sustainability Program — Event Coverage | North Texas
A community tree planting program organized by the North Texas Host Committee, putting roots into Dallas neighborhoods ahead of one of the largest sporting events the city has ever hosted.
Three days. Different light, different crowds, different energy each time. What stayed consistent was the intention behind it, local volunteers, city officials, and kids in oversized FIFA tees with dirt on their gloves, doing something that won't make the highlight reel but will outlast the tournament by decades.
That's the kind of moment photography is built for.
The work here wasn't about spectacle. It was about proximity staying close enough to the action to catch what a broadcast camera misses. The girl who looked straight into the lens. The volunteer bent over a sapling like it was the most important thing in the world. The scarves and the shovels in the same frame.
Dallas is getting ready. This is what that looks like before the stadium lights come on.
